Stock Market

Achieve3000 includes an online stock market simulation that teaches children the basics of Wall Street while improving their applied reading skills.

The rules of the game are simple. Students receive $100,000 of virtual money that they can invest in any of the featured companies. Prices are updated daily from a live ticker, and students can log in anytime, anywhere, to check their portfolios.

The stock market experience has two golden rules. Students must:

  • Own stock in five companies at a time: no more, no less.

  • Have no more than $1,000 cash remaining.

This simulated trading experience gives students financial literacy skills. It is important that they have some background on the stock market and investing before they actually play the game. Built-in “company research” tools make it easy for students to learn more about participating companies. (See Getting Started below for more information on researching the participating companies.)

To make the experience as authentic as possible, prices are updated from a live ticker every 30 minutes. Students should be aware that their stocks will fluctuate in value along with the real, live stock market.
